CIPAL has chosen : no load-bearing welds
CIPAL has a basic principle of applying the European standard NF EN 13155/A1 of December 2003, which concerns equipment for lifting suspended loads.
It is extremely important to understand what this means, to measure the impact of introducing new lifting equipment in a company. The most important chapter concerning the design is that on welded elements: the equipment’s load support must never be dependent on the weld OR if this is the case, it must be checked annually using weld verification techniques which are costly, difficult to perform on assemblies that are sometimes complex and, above all, at your expense. Others will tell you that their equipment is CE certified. This is true when the equipment leaves their workshops with the weld certifications, but the following year, it is no longer your supplier’s problem.
This is why CIPAL has chosen, for all its projects, to deliver products to its customers without load-bearing welds.
CIPAL, a new player in the railway sector
Backed by its experience in lifting and materials handling, in 2012, CIPAL decided to develop a railway maintenance machine capable of transporting 6 persons and 1.5 tonnes of material. In order to stand out from the competition in the sector, the development of this machine was based on 100% use of electricity: the RAPACE Tunnel & Logistic.
Thanks to the success of this machine, CIPAL continued to extend the RAPACE range. This second machine, the RAPACE DAC, is dedicated to the maintenance of rail-head transition profiles and switch half-sets on the rail network.
