The turning columns are lifting devices designed for the handling of heavy and bulky components at floor level. CIPAL designs and manufactures them to order for each industrial application. They thus enable component turning without the need for an overhead travelling crane.
Turning columns — a synchronised system for even lifting
The system combines a motorised column and a free-rotating column. Each column integrates a motorised vertical translation slide. Both vertical movements are thus synchronised to ensure even lifting of the component. In the event of a power failure, a safety system furthermore automatically maintains the position of the slides.
Continuous 360° rotation without constraint on the component
The motorised column drives continuous 360° rotation of the load. The free column follows the movement without constraining the component. Mechanical interfaces adapted to each mould or component thus ensure precise connection between the load and the turning columns. CIPAL adapts each set to component dimensions, operational output and workshop constraints.
The engineering department sizes each set of columns according to the specific constraints of the application. It takes into account component type, operational output and the operating environment. Every unit is moreover delivered with a complete technical file: operating instructions, structural calculations and CE marking.
