The verticalisation lifting beam is a high-precision lifting device. CIPAL designs and manufactures it to order for the aerospace sector. It thus ensures the safe handling and verticalisation of large-scale space structures. CIPAL notably developed it in collaboration with CNES for the Ariane 6 programme.
Verticalisation Lifting Beam — Motorised rebalancing for full control
Its motorised rebalancing system continuously compensates for imbalances linked to the structure’s geometry. The operator thus controls all movements remotely via radio remote control. Manual intervention at load level is therefore not required. This approach furthermore guarantees team safety and structural integrity throughout the operation.
Applications in the aerospace and space sector
The verticalisation lifting beam finds applications across the most demanding aerospace programmes. It is thus particularly suited to the verticalisation of launch vehicle bodies and large-scale space structures, the handling of aerospace sub-assemblies with variable centre of gravity, and lifting operations in controlled environments with strict regulatory requirements. Projects developed in collaboration with aerospace validation bodies such as CNES furthermore benefit from a complete qualification and traceability file. Its motorised rebalancing system consequently makes it the reference solution for any operation requiring precise and safe verticalisation of complex structures.
A design compliant with aerospace requirements
Each aerospace verticalisation beam is developed in direct collaboration with the client. CIPAL thus integrates regulatory constraints and traceability requirements from the design phase. Qualification protocols specific to the aerospace sector are furthermore taken into account. This rigour therefore ensures tooling compliance with the most demanding sector standards.
The engineering department sizes each beam according to the specific constraints of the application. It takes into account component geometry, positioning tolerances and operating conditions. Every unit is moreover delivered with a complete technical file: operating instructions, structural calculations and CE marking.
