The overhead crane turning system is a specialist lifting device for the continuous and safe rotation of heavy loads under an existing overhead crane. CIPAL designs and manufactures it to order for each industrial turning application. It thus enables rotation operations without angle limitation, where conventional turning beams reach their limits.
Overhead crane turning system — principle based on two combined beams
Its principle relies on the combination of a free beam and a motorised beam, both suspended from the overhead crane. This combination thus ensures smooth and controlled 360° rotation of the load. The system furthermore integrates mechanical interfaces adapted to each component’s geometry. It therefore guarantees precise and safe connection between the load and the beams throughout the turning cycle.
Remote control for enhanced safety
The operator controls all movements remotely via radio remote control or pendant push-button. Each movement is thus managed with precision, without any manual intervention at load level. This remote operation furthermore improves operator safety and reduces risks associated with the handling of heavy and bulky components.
CIPAL adapts each system to the specific constraints of the production environment: component nature and dimensions, load capacity, operational output and configuration of the existing overhead crane. The engineering department sizes each system according to the application’s constraints. Every unit is moreover delivered with a complete technical file: operating instructions, structural calculations and CE marking.
