The pump body extraction tooling is a precision handling system designed for the extraction and reinstallation of pump cartridges in nuclear environments. CIPAL designs and manufactures it to order to meet the specific requirements of this sector. It thus guarantees positioning accuracy of ±0.1 mm over the entire extraction stroke.

Pump Body Extraction Tooling — Full control of cartridge position

Every component of this tooling is developed to ensure repeatability and safety of operations. The system integrates adjustments in translation, pitch, roll and yaw for full control of cartridge position. An integrated measurement instrument furthermore enables continuous quantification of cartridge altitude variation at every stage of the operation.

A design adapted to nuclear constraints

The design takes into account the specific operating constraints of the nuclear environment: C3H paint system per BS ISO 12944, preparation degree P2 per BS ISO 8501, materials and components selected for compatibility with the operating environment. Every project is furthermore developed in direct collaboration with the client and sector validation bodies. Traceability requirements and qualification protocols are thus integrated from the design phase onwards.

Applications in nuclear power station maintenance

The pump body extraction tooling finds applications across nuclear power station maintenance operations. It is thus particularly suited to the extraction and reinstallation of pump cartridges in primary and secondary circuits, precision operations requiring strict traceability and regulatory compliance, and maintenance interventions in controlled environments with restricted access. Its positioning accuracy of ±0.1 mm furthermore makes it the reference solution for any operation requiring precise and repeatable cartridge handling. Every unit is consequently delivered with a complete qualification file adapted to nuclear sector requirements.

The engineering department sizes each piece of tooling according to the specific constraints of the pump and intervention site. It takes into account cartridge geometry, extraction tolerances and access conditions. Every unit is moreover delivered with a complete technical file: operating instructions, structural calculations and CE marking.
